Terms of service

This site is a community; users should respect the other participants in this community. In general, users should conduct themselves in respectful, appropriate ways that encourage inclusion and cooperation. Our users express a diverse range of opinion and knowledge, and disagreements can (and should) be handled in civilised ways.

More specifically, members and guests alike agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-orientated or any other material that may violate any applicable laws, including copyright laws.

As well, posts that are created for the explicit purpose of criticising in a destructive or insulting manner (commonly known as ‘flame’ posts) will come under the scrutiny of the administrators and moderators.

A post which is determined to be inappropriate (in any or all of the aforementioned ways) may be removed or split from the originating topic at the discretion of the administrators, and the author may be notified about the post in question.

The administrators and moderators of this site will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible. However, it is impossible to review every message. Therefore, you acknowledge that all posts made here express the views and opinions of the author and not the administrators, moderators, or webmaster (except for posts by these people) and hence they will not be held liable.

The content of all posts remain the property of their respective authors, and can not be republished elsewhere in any form without the knowledge and consent of the author.

If you create a blog on this site, you agree we may brand the footer and place advertising on the blog. You will retain copyright over original content. You agree not to exceed the prescribed data upload limit (currently 200MB).

In the event of inappropriate activity, violators may be subject to disciplinary action by the administration, including but not limited to: a warning from an administrator or moderator, a one-week ban, or a permanent ban if necessary. Furthermore, the webmaster, administrators, and moderators have the right to remove, edit, move, or close any topic at any time should they see fit.

As a user you agree to any information you have entered above being stored in a database. While your private information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent, the webmaster, administrator, and moderators cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.

Your email address is generally used only to confirm your registration details and password and to send new passwords should you forget your current one. Occasionally, the administrators may be required to contact you via your email address. Therefore, a valid email address is required.

This system uses cookies to store information on your local computer. These cookies do not contain any of the information you have entered; they serve only to improve your viewing pleasure.

In the event that police or legal authorities wish to identify a poster, we will co-operate at our discretion and in accordance with the law.

These terms may be updated at any time without notice.
